💥  The exact formula for following up with prospects without sounding salesy

💥  An unlikely trick to being more influential, persuasive, and charismatic

💥  How to create MORE powerful content without writing or saying a word

Let’s get this!

In an effort to combat loneliness among its elderly population, a popular Netherlands supermarket is opening up 200 “Kletskassas” this year.

These designated “chat checkouts” are designed for lingering…chatting…and engaging in face-to-face conversation.

Whether it takes you a couple of minutes or 10 minutes, there’s no rush.

“Many people, the elderly in particular, can feel lonely,” one of the company’s employees said.

“Our shops are a meeting place and that means we can do something to combat loneliness. The Kletskassa is just one of the things we can do.”

The chat checkouts are a direct response to recent reports that millions of edlerly individuals around the world are feeling more isolated and lonelier than ever before.

And while neither you nor I are in the supermarket business, I think there’s a lesson in there.

As much as we focus on being productive, efficiency isn’t everything.

Rushing should never take precedence over relationships.

Sometimes we just need to pause and be human.

Not because we’re going to “get” something out of it, but because it’s the best way to show other people that they’re valuable and worthy of being loved.

Can we make a pact to be more available this week? 🤝

I’m in…

And I trust you are, too!

We can all agree that being more influential, persuasive, and charismatic is something we’d like to strive for.

And that’s why I find this particular piece of research so interesting.

It shows that people tend to be LESS charismatic when they’re at a low point in their circadian rhythm and MORE charismatic when at their peak.

To put it another way, night owls are more influential and persuasive later in the day, while larks are more charismatic early in the morning.

Use these findings to your advantage…

If you’re a night owl, try scheduling meetings, webinars, and sales calls later in the day.

If you’re a lark, front-load the early portion of your calendar so that you always show up as your best self.

☕  TL;DR: Align your daily calendar with your circadian rhythm for greater influence, persuasion, and charisma.

Marketing Psychology Quick Hit

Studies and surveys continue to show that people trust User Generated Content (UGC) more than branded content.

It doesn’t matter the industry or market, people are much more likely to trust pictures, videos, blog posts, testimonials, or social media posts that come directly from one of their peers…

…than a carefully-edited and over-produced piece of content that comes from a company’s marketing department.

For many years, advisors had no way of leveraging UGC.

But ever since the SEC approved the use of testimonials in advisor marketing, the game has changed.

Are you taking advantage of it?

👇 Here’s my challenge to you this week 👇

  • Send out an email to 10 of your top clients.
  • Ask for a video testimonial in exchange for a $50 Amazon gift card.
  • Start using the videos on your LinkedIn profile, website, and as part of your webinars and sales meetings.

A single positive testimonial is more influential to your prospects than an hour spent talking about yourself.

UGC is where the ROI is…get on it!

☕  TL;DR: Start using more testimonials to build greater trust.

Weekly Industry Catch-Up

🔹 Creepy or cool? Beginning this summer, you may need to take a video selfie to access certain parts of the IRS website. This is part of a bigger plan in which the IRS is working directly with the company “ID.me” to make its online portals more secure.

🔹 Dollar goes digital. The Fed released its long-awaited study on a “digital dollar,” but took no definitive stance. In light of the rise of crypto, experts say a “Central bank Digital Currency” is an inevitable next step.

🔹 Bike accident. Peloton – the popular home exercise equipment brand – had an abysmal week on Wall Street. At the time of writing this, PTON stock is down -80% over the past six months.

On that note… time to head to the gym… 💪
