Hey Sunday Brewers!

Whether you’re looking for ways to increase focus at your desk…

Get more prospects to say YES!

Or you’re simply interested in learning more about the world’s oldest living dog…

This Cup o’ Brew is for YOU!

How do you like me now?

If 21-year-old Chihuahua TobyKieth could talk, that’s probably what he’d say.

The tiny pup, named after the big, burly country music singer, is now officially recognized as the “oldest living dog.”

When Gisela Shore adopted the puppy from a nonprofit rescue organization, TobyKieth was mayyybe 2 pounds.

Today, he’s as strong as ever – a girthy 4 pounds.

“I call him my bodyguard. He’s always with me,” Shore says.

While he is of legal drinking age now 😉, Shore decided to serve TobyKieth and his rescue dog friends a safer treat on his birthday: carrot muffins.

He also got to ride around in the car, which is his favorite thing to do.

“Even my family’s shocked at how great he looks, physically,” says Shore. “He looks like, maybe, a 10-year-old dog.”

When asked what she thinks about her pup’s newfound fame, Shore said she’s hopeful it’ll spark more conversation about adopting and fostering pets.

“TobyKeith truly does reflect the importance of foster homes,” an animal rescue spokesperson says.

“We only have so much space in shelters to care for lost and abandoned animals, and fosters allow us to expand our impact and save more lives.”

Research shows that once you get distracted, it takes an average of 25 minutes to return back to the original task!

Scary, right?

This phenomenon is known as “attention residue” – and it refers to the attention your brain leaves behind on the previous task or distraction.

But this isn’t the only issue.

All of that shifting back and forth actually drains energy from your brain

And as your brain uses all of this glucose, you start to feel less motivated, less productive, and physically tired.

So what’s an advisor to do?

Try Binaural beats, which are soundtracks designed to cause a physiological response.

They work by sending one constant tone to your left ear and another to your right ear – simultaneously.

This causes your brain to perceive a third “new” tone.

Your brain follows this new frequency and actually produces brain waves at the very same rate of Hertz (Hz) and becomes tuned to that frequency.

For optimum focus and productivity, listen to Alpha or Beta beats.

☕  TL;DR: Having trouble focusing? Turn on some binaural beats!

Marketing Psychology Quick Hit

You’re in the business of getting people to say YES.

YES to appointments.

YES to bringing AUM.

YES to your vision of helping them succeed.

There’s a lot of research on why people say yes, but one experiment stands out.

In the experiment, people waiting in line to use a copy machine were asked a simple question:

“Excuse me, I have five pages. May I use the Xerox machine?”

About 60% of the people said yes.

Then in the second phase of the experiment she switched up the question and asked people a slightly different variation:

“Excuse me, I have five pages. May I use the Xerox machine because I have to make some copies?”

A whopping 93% of people said yes.

The difference?

The word “because.”

Even though her justification “because I have to make some copies” didn’t add any new information, it coaxed people into saying yes.

So let’s bring this back full circle…

In your marketing and content strategies, make sure you’re providing justification for your statements and asks.

☕  TL;DR: Give people a reason and they’re more likely to say yes.
