But first…how about a heartwarming redemption story?
The very first time Edward Martell found himself standing in Judge Bruce Morrow’s courtroom, he was a lost 27-year-old.
The high school dropout had just been arrested in a drug sting outside of Detroit (while already out on bail for another crime).
Martell faced as much as 20 years in prison for his involvement…
But then something unusual happened.
Rather than sentence Edward to two decades behind bars, Judge Morrow gave him a second chance.
He was given just three years probation and a stern challenge.
“He said, ‘I challenge you to be a CEO of a Fortune 500 company instead of being out here selling drugs’,” Martell recalled. “And I love a challenge.”
Fast forward 16 years…
And while Edward might not be a Fortune 500 CEO, he fully embraced the challenge to “become somebody.”
Just this past week, he returned to Judge Morrow’s courtroom to be sworn in as a member of the Michigan State Bar.
Edward is now an attorney in the very courtroom where he once found his future hanging in the balance.
“Everybody needs love,” Judge Morrow says.
“It took some intelligence to get in and out of the kind of trouble he got into. I told him, ‘You could be my son. Let’s see how far you can go.’
“And man, he hasn’t finished yet.”

Want to improve your focus and amplify your brain power?
Nutritionists recommend consuming a high-fat, low-carb diet to stabilize blood sugar levels.
This type of diet ensures you have a steady supply of energy throughout the day (rather than sudden spikes and dips).
It’s okay to consume some carbs, but eliminate as much sugar as possible (which causes energy-zapping brain inflammation).
In addition to removing carbs and sugar, consume plenty of polyphenols.
These anti-inflammatory compounds are known to boost memory and lower levels of inflammation in the brain.
(As an added bonus, they also actively fight back against stress.)
You can find high concentrations of polyphenols in berries, nuts, coffee, tea, colorful fruits and veggies, and dark chocolate.
☕ TL;DR: Increase your daily focus by eating a high-fat, low-carb diet.
